VVP Announces Vision Global Foundation to Support Causes That Help At-Risk Children and Families Receive Much-Needed Education, Healthcare, and Safety Programs

Vision Venture Partners (VVP), a private equity firm that combines decades of business success and value creation from the high tech, video game, professional and lifestyle industries, has announced the formation of its Vision Global Foundation. The philanthropic arm of VVP will initially focus on assisting children and families in need throughout the world with an emphasis on providing safety, technology education and healthcare support.

"Helping those in need has always been an important part of my life, so launching a philanthropic arm at Vision Venture Partners was an obvious next step," said Amit Raizada, VVP Founding Partner and former CEO of Spectrum Business Ventures. "The creation of VGF is pivotal to our long-term business plans since VVP will be invested in both our local and global community. VVP plans to donate 10% of its net income as well as 10% of its employees' time to support Vision Global Foundation."

The Vision Global Foundation officially launched on May 3rd preceding the annual west coast fundraising event for The Orphaned Starfish Foundation (OSF).  This worldwide organization has helped thousands of orphans, at-risk children and victims of abuse escape the cycle of poverty and exploitation that is an ever-present threat through safety, education and job training.

Vision Venture Partners' founders co-sponsored the charity gala and pledged $100,000 to OSF. "We're proud to announce Vision Global Foundation and name OSF as our charter charitable organization," said Stratton Sclavos, a VVP founding partner and former CEO of security and internet services company Verisign. "My partners and I have had a longstanding relationship to its creators and their incredibly impactful work."

More than $550,000 was raised for Orphaned Starfish Foundation at the charity gala at West Hollywood's 1OAK. Mariah Carey, Stacey Kiebler, Malik Yoba, Rick Fox, former NFL players Tony Gonzalez and Shaun Phillips were among the celebrities who donated and attended.

The gala was preceded by a launch party at VVP's new Beverly Hills headquarters. Among the speakers were OSF's founders Andrew Stein and his wife Dilia, a professional singer who often performs for at-risk kids during the couple's many trips abroad to orphanages throughout Latin America.

"I know Vision Global Foundation will make a huge difference because I've seen first-hand the passion its founders bring to their philanthropic efforts," said Stein.  "I'm eager to watch them write their story."
